In Vitro Fertilization Without Breaking the Bank
USING IN VITRO FERTILIZATION WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK.
Sometimes just the thought of what it is going to cost a couple to have a child these days, is probably enough to deter someone from trying to conceive a child. But most lesbian couples do not have an issue with fertility; they’ve problems with access to sperm.
What will be your highest cost? The answer is simple: Sperm Banks. Unless you have a male friend you trust explicitly, then most couples will opt to buy sperm from a Sperm bank. And of course, you have to ask these questions: “Will he want access to the baby?” Will he want to be a co-parent?” “WILL He donate out of friendship?” “IS He clean, drug free and virus free?” To us as a couple it was just easier to deal with a sperm bank where the donor has opted not to have any access to the child at all. At least at a sperm bank you know the samples have been tested for disease.

Sperm banks costs for a single donation can range from as little as 450 dollars to as high as 850. Certain factors can drive up the cost.
Factors such as: Type of InseminationIUI – Intrauterine Insemination IVI – Intravaginal Insemination ICI – Intracervical InseminationWashed SpermUnwashed SpermOpen Donor (A donor who’s open to contact when child turns eightteen years of age)Anonymous DonorStorage of SpermDo you storm your samples at the Sperm Bank? Do you store your samples at the Fertility Clinic? (MOST Fertility Clinics don’t charge for storage as long as you’re being treated at their facility.SHIPPINGAFTER You’ve worked out what type of Sperm you’ll use, then you get into the actual cost of treatment. Depending on your insurance plan, some procedures are probably covered. In our case, office visits and Ultrasounds were covered at 50%. Fertility medications like Clomid were covered and we only had a co-payment, which was small. If you choose to use Injectable medications, that’s when you’ll run into high cost because most insurance companies won’t cover Injectables especially if you don’t have a fertility issue such a PCOS or many other issues that can cause you to not produce eggs properly. But if you are a healthy female, as far as reproduction, you can count on covering those costs yourself and they can be high.
I find that patience is going to be your best friend. Do not be in a hurry and you will not find yourself being vulnerable to suggestions like “Let’s try injectables or let’s try IVF”, which is a very expensive procedure.
You want to use a fertility specialist to help increase your chances of insemination. Your highest cost is paying for your Sperm samples. So you do not want to have to pay for too many of samples if you can avoid it. Using a fertility specialist and using Fertility medications such as Clomid will increase your Follicle production giving you a higher chance that your sperm will inseminate at least one of those eggs.
About In Vitro Fertilization
If during one cycle, one month, the fertility medication, does not work, then wait until the next month. Do not use your sample until everything is perfect. What do I mean by perfect? With the help of fertility medications you’ve at least produced several follicles. At least 2 of these follicles are growing at the rate they’re supposed to grow. You either ovulate on your own, or the doctor gives you a medication to help you ovulate. When all those factors happen in that order, then and only then do you use your sample for insemination. If you don’t get pregnant, then at least you’ll feel that you’ve done everything that could have been done and that particular cycle was damn near perfect. You’ll then feel better about, either, buying another Sperm sample or using your other sample if you ordered more than one.
But since your Sperm samples are your biggest cost, do not use them too freely. Make sure everything falls into place. Make sure you’re having open dialogue with your Fertility Specialist during the entire process. Communication is the key. You want to have a baby, but you do not want to go broke while doing it.

Would using my sons sperm for in vitro fertilization be considered incest? I’ve been wondering this for awhile. Me and my son are in no way sexually active, but I’ve been thinking of having another child and was wondering if anyone is aware of people using someone in there family to conceive a child through this method and would this be considered incest?

Yep incest he would be the Dad and brother to the baby, get it now that I cleared it up and worded it proper? I heard of a mother carrying a child for his son and wife with the wife's egg of course but if it’s your egg and your child's sperm then it’s incest. They’ve sperm banks if your wanting to take that route then it may be your solution, or a friend that’s male could volunteer sperm, but then there are legal steps that need be done so you can not hunt child support or later custody battles

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband especially at such an important time of your life. Unfortunately it’s not the way to go to be close to your husband. A baby with your sons dna would most likely suffer with some sort of abnormalities. It’s not right for that child to then learn in the future that his father is actually his brother. If you really want another baby, I suggest going to a sperm bank with your son and other close family members and choosing a donor together. Or even using a close male friend if they’re up for it. Good luck.

Yes and no, medically speaking the child you concieve using your son's sperm, would be genetically incest. Even tho you and your son aren’t sexual, you share dna and there is no telling that you would be able to have a healthy child because of there. There are numerous defects that could happen. I would definitly advise against it. Maybe you can find a friend or someone NOT related to your through blood.

Don't listen to these closed-minded fools…FIRST, If there is no prior incestual offspring within the last 3-4 generations, your chances of medical issues are slim at best…IF You choose to do this to either ensure specific traits or to honor a past father-DNA then I say go for it…HECK, If he's over 18, I think it would beautiful and loving to conceive this child naturally…IE–NO Artificial insemination!

This is WRONG. So wrong. As someone above me mentioned, the child would have all sorts of chromosomal abnormalities at the least! I don't know if you have thought about it like this or not, but : This hypothetical child's biological father would also be it's biological half-brother. No no no no no no no.
