How much should i rest after IVF? My doc asked me to rest for 2-3 days after IVF and then i can go about my normal routine. I did as she said, didn’t move about much for three days. I asked her esplly about driving and climbing stairs and she said both were fine. Though i do go out of the house to get my injections and at times to my mom's place which is not too far, I’m still a little scared of moving too much?? Should i just avoid everything or is it ok to go to the mall?

Go with how you feel. After my egg retrieval, I took the day off and just hung out on the couch and in bed. I then went back to work but stuck close to the desk and didn't do anything having to do with a lot of walking, lifting or moving around. My egg transfer ended up being on a Friday so I had the weekend off to rest. For the weekend, I definitely took it easy . . . But still got the basic chores done such as some laundry, cooking, dishes, etc . . . I think that you should take it easy . . . And let your body tell you when enough is enough. Good luck! I hope that you get your BFP!

The question I ask you is, how badly do you want a baby? It’s up to you how much u move around, but ultimately, it depends on how badly you want your baby, and how far you’ll push yourself.

When I did mine the doctor told me you should rest for a week, not in bed but to avoid cars and going out. But I was worried and didn't leave the house for the 2 weeks…so it depends on how you feel but I think you should take it easy during the first week..Best of luck

The less you move the better, so if I were paying for IVF, I would try to take it easy for the recommended amount of time. Best of Luck!!!

Just for three days u must be very careful, even u should avoid sex.u can do ur normal routine, but climbing, running aren’t advisable.if u r taking rest.that will sure give u good result. I find many ivf patients are trying for long time so taking rest is very valuable,so pls avoid going out as much as possible. Always keep some doctors phone number who did this for u. Better ask them for certain activities before u do.safer side avoid climbing stairs frequently.but u can go for taking injection, which is very essential and its even more better if u maintain the same timings for injection every day,but its better four u to go very nearable places.

After my IVFs I was told bedrest for only 24hrs, it depends on much more then your activity…grade/condition of embryos, your lining, etc It all rolls into one on how good your chances are of working but do your best to restrict your activity as much as you can. Walking to go to and from somewhere like house to car isn't going to affect anything.
