DOES MEDICARE COVER PREGNANCY, BIRTH, AND FERTILITY DRUGS? FINALLY, someone with the same coverage as I’ve!! Yes, Medicare covers pregnancy and birth. How well it covers depends on whether you have regular Medicare (80/20) or some kind of HMO or PPO plan. If you were planning to get pregnant, you need to figure out which plans are best for you and switch during the next open enrollment. Fertility drugs? Some. I know Clomid is covered in many states including mine. I very much doubt that injectible fertility drugs are included. Most insurance companies don't cover them, so I doubt Part D would. You could check the formulary (sp?) for your Part D to find out. As far as other fertililty assistance like IUI or IVF or even testing beyond the real basics, no Medicare doesn’t cover that. Even in states that have mandatory coverage for infertility treatment, Medicare doesn't pay – it has to come out of state funds that are set aside for this purpose.

Does anyone know any charities that help cover the cost of fertility drugs.? We’re not to IVF yet. The fertility drugs will cost around 300.00 a month. It doesn't seem that much at one time but it takes most couples around 3-6 months to get pregant.

My mum just had a go at me…Idk what to do!? 18? I found out yesterday I’ve Polycistic ovaries. I’ve twenty-two follicles on each. I'm eightteen and my fiancee is 20. When I spoke to my mum today about going on a fertility drug to make me ovulate regularly she said 'NO NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT' my fiancee and I are financially stable but she still doesn't trust me to make this decision. I'm going to my GP soon with my fiancee to get the fertililty drug but I still feel betrayed by my mum. I’m young, healthy, educated and I still feel she thinks I'm too young.. Please help!?

Because he’s a Liberal and we all know how Liberals think. It's okay to kill unborn babies, didn't you know that? As you well know, it doesn't matter how many FACTS you point out, there's going to be a hoard of Libs and Dems denying it and still trying to find a way to disprove you. Just like they did me in my question about Kevin Jennings and his child rape supporting DEAD (thankfully) buddy Harry Hay. Thank you for posting this question, I hope it helps open someone's eyes.

Question about ending infertility? I'm thirty-five years old. Have been dealing with endometriosis for ten years, have gone thru surgery three times and two full course of lupron. I've been dealing with infertility for three years. Have gone thru IUI's four times and IVF twice. I got pregnant once and miscarried a few weeks later- this was two years ago. No luck since than. I've been dealing with depression- am on an antidepressant and seeing a psychologist. Lately I've been thinking about not seeking any further treatment for infertility-the endo is acting back up again and I'm facing more surgery. Has anyone else gone thru this and how did you make the decision.

I’ve no good advice but I’ll tell you a story. My good friend from church, tried to have a baby with her husband for five years. Her story was much like yours, miscarriages, and infertility drugs, depression, hopelessness and then giving up. She gave up, and stopped taking the drugs, and just came to accept the unavoidable. Though church we learned of triplets that were 2 weeks old in Vietnam who lost both parents and we were trying to raise money for them to live. Anna heard of this and thought may be this was her calling she couldn’t have children of her own and may be God was calling her to adopt these three little girls who lead such a tragic fate in vietnam. So she did it. ANd one year later , we had faith, hope and joy. They lived a great life and Anna was a happy mother like she always had wanted to be. On the girls 3rd birthday we were having a party, and Anna was very ill so I was helping out. Triplet party's are crazy!!! But Anna was vomiting severely and feeling very ill so she went to the doctor. Anna was two months pregnant. ANd 7 months later we had Grace. Things happen for reasons even when we don't know why, there is a plan. Even if your aren’t a religious person this is a true touching story:)

I just answered your other question but wanted to address this as well. Have you gotten a second or third opinion? If not do it! Perhaps another medication protocol will work better for you. Are you with a reproductive endocrinologist as well? You should be. If you’re in the USA check out sart.org and find a good clinic with great success rates and lots of experience. I also recommend a forum called fertile thoughts. They’re a great welcoming forum where you can meet others with your diagnosis who can help There is a large group of women with endometriosis who have found protocols that have worked for them.

Infertility with insurance copay question? Did you have to pay your copay everytime you went to have your blood drawn? What tier was your copay for your infertility drugs? Do you think your health insurance made a difference in the overall cost of your infertility treatments including IVF? I’ve military health care right and they don't cover anything now but I'm thinking about purchasing a plan that will cover IVF etc. I can get IVF for about 4k/cycle but I'm wondering if the extra insurance will be worth it. I'm looking at Blue Cross in Massachusetts. Thanks!

I’ve Blue Cross in Massachusetts. We did three Clomid IUI cycles, three injectible FSH cycles and finally a successful IVF cycle. As to co-pay, the only time I paid my co-pay was for the actual procedures (IUI appointments) and any time that I met with the doctor for a consultation. Bloodwork, ultrasounds etc . . . Were all covered without a co-pay. As to prescriptions, my co-pay depended on the meds being used . . . The FSH injections were at the top tier but other meds like Clomid, progesterone and Lupron were at a lower tier. Hope this helps!

What are the effects of fertility drugs on the baby? Hello, I’m starting Estrodial and Progesterone this month. This will be the 2nd month on Chlomid. When I’m on Chlomid I pretty much get every single side effect. If anyone else has done this what have you experienced? And what are the side effects that could occur to the baby if I get pregno. I’m completely knew to all of this if you could recommend a good fertility calendar too that would be great! I’m just wondering what I can look forward to this month :) Thanks for your help!
